About Me

Hey, I’m Ashley I use she/her pronouns I am a licensed professional counselor and the founder of A Journey Made. While I’m a nerd for all things therapeutic, my passion comes from connecting with others. From a young age (right around those angsty teen years), I knew I wanted to understand people better, and I’ve been fortunate to turn that curiosity into my life’s work. I firmly believe that feeling understood creates the safe foundation needed to be challenged, see things from new perspectives, and begin new behaviors. My role is to use evidence-based practices to help you do exactly that.

During my training, I was drawn to Adlerian therapy, which emphasizes how our experiences and environments shape who we are. Over the years, I’ve expanded my approach to include a range of modalities. Through my work in community mental health, I trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. In a residential setting, I gained experience with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD and anxiety-related disorders. All of this is to say: I strive to meet clients where they are, with flexibility and compassion, using the approaches that fit them best. While I am a nerd for all things therapeutic, my passion comes from being able to connect with others. From a young age (right around those angsty teen years) I knew I wanted to understand people a little better, and I’ve been able to turn that into my life’s work. I fully believe that being understood is the foundation that creates a safe environment to be challenged, look at things differently, and begin new behaviors. My role is to use evidence-based practices to help you do just that.

Outside of the office, I like to feed my hobbies as much as I can. This typically looks like curling up with a good book, watching a movie (Regal is better than AMC), planning my next vacation, or volunteering with organizations that feel important to me. I’m glad you’re here. Taking this step isn’t always easy, but it matters. As the saying goes, “Many people see the horizon, but few consider the hike.” I’m here to take that hike with you.
